If you’re looking for swimming goggles with mirrored lenses, the model matters more than the mirror coating itself. A compact pair of competition goggles and a comfortable pair of training goggles can both have mirrored lenses, but they feel very different once you put them on.
For competitions, we usually recommend mirrored lenses. For training, the choice depends more on the light and your own preference. If you’d like to know when mirrored lenses are useful, read When should you choose swimming goggles with mirrored lenses?. In this blog, we’re looking at the best models.

Arena Cobra Ultra Swipe Mirror: for a deep race fit
The Arena Cobra Ultra is one of our first choices for competitive swimmers who like a very compact pair of goggles. The mirrored version combines that race fit with Arena Swipe anti-fog.
Based on our fitting experience, the Ultra sits relatively deep in the eye socket. This gives it a close fit, but the lens may sit close to longer eyelashes. If the shape suits your face, it’s a strong choice for competitions.
Arena Cobra Edge Swipe Mirror: more room around the eyes
The Arena Cobra Edge is at a similar level to the Ultra, but feels different around the eyes.
Based on our fitting experience, the Edge sits a little further from the eye and gives your eyelashes more room. It’s a good option if you want proper competition goggles but find the Ultra sits too deep.
We don’t have an overall winner between the Ultra and Edge. The best choice mainly depends on the shape of your face.
Speedo Fastskin Pure Focus Mirror: built for hydrodynamics
The Speedo Fastskin Pure Focus is our most streamlined Speedo choice for competitions.
It has a compact, race-focused fit, but based on our fitting experience, it sits a little less deeply than the Cobra Ultra. That can suit you if you’re looking for a dedicated pair of competition goggles without the same deep position around the eye.
Speedo Fastskin Hyper Elite Mirror: similar level, different fit
The Speedo Fastskin Hyper Elite is also a proper pair of competition goggles. The Pure Focus is the more streamlined option, while the Hyper Elite has a different seal and may fit some faces better.
We wouldn’t choose between these two on specifications alone. If both meet your technical requirements, let the fit decide.
Speedo Fastskin Speed Socket 2.0 Mirror: a specific race fit
The Fastskin Speed Socket 2.0 has its own low-profile fit and comes with several interchangeable nose bridges.
We see it as a specific competition choice. Some swimmers get a good fit straight away, while the Pure Focus or Hyper Elite suits other faces better. Choose it if this particular shape is right for you.
Arena Air Sonic Mirror: for training and first competitions
The Arena Air Sonic shows that mirrored lenses aren’t just for dedicated racing goggles.
We see the Air Sonic mainly as a pair of training goggles that can also be used for competitions. That makes the Mirror version a good option for swimmers new to competition, or for swimmers who like mirrored lenses during training but don’t want a deep Cobra fit straight away.
Speedo Biofuse 2.0 Mirror: comfort during training
For us, the Speedo Biofuse 2.0 is clearly a pair of training goggles. The seal sits more loosely around the eye, with comfort taking priority over the Fastskin models.
The Mirror version makes sense if you want that comfortable fit with less glare and reflection. For competitions, we wouldn’t recommend the Biofuse over a dedicated pair of competition goggles.
Which mirrored swimming goggles would we choose?
For a serious competitive swimmer, we’d first look at the competition goggles: Cobra Ultra, Cobra Edge, Pure Focus, Hyper Elite and Speed Socket 2.0. Which one is best depends mainly on your face and how compact you want the fit to be.
For training and first competitions, the Air Sonic Mirror is a more accessible option. If comfort is your priority during longer training sessions, the Biofuse 2.0 Mirror is the more suitable choice.
So choose the type of goggles and the fit first. The mirror coating can then be a useful feature for competitions and training in bright conditions, but it won’t determine whether the goggles fit your face well.
