How does Arena Swipe technology work?
Arena Swipe is an anti-fog technology that can be reactivated when the inside of your goggles starts to fog. That is the main difference from an anti-fog coating that you simply use until its effect gradually fades.
The process is simple. Wet the inside of the lens and gently swipe a finger across the lens. Rinse the goggles afterwards. This reactivates the Swipe anti-fog effect.
Arena states that in its own tests Swipe lasts up to ten times longer than the previous anti-fog technology used on Cobra goggles. This is particularly relevant if you swim regularly and want to keep using the anti-fog effect for longer.
You do not need to reactivate Swipe before every training session. Do it when you notice the lens starting to fog again while swimming.
TIP: treat the inside of the lens carefully. Swipe is designed to be activated with a deliberate swipe; unnecessary rubbing on the inside of swimming goggles is not required.
What does Swipe anti-fog offer in practice?
Fogged lenses are mainly frustrating because they restrict your vision while swimming. With Arena Swipe goggles you can reactivate the anti-fog effect without immediately using a separate anti-fog product.
That makes Swipe particularly practical if you train regularly or race and want to keep using the same pair for longer.
Which Arena goggles have Swipe?
Swipe is not a separate model but a technology Arena uses on different swimming goggles.
Within the race-focused Cobra range, Swipe is available for example on the Arena Cobra Edge, Cobra Ultra and Cobra Core. Each model has its own fit and race-focused features; Swipe is the anti-fog technology they can have in common.
Swipe is also used outside the Cobra range. Arena applies the technology, for example, to the Air-Bold Swipe, a model within the Air family.
Do not choose only on the word Swipe. Start with the type of swimming goggles you need: racing, training or comfort. Within that choice, you can then look at which versions with Swipe anti-fog are available.
What is the difference from regular anti-fog?
With a traditional anti-fog treatment, the effect decreases over time. The distinctive feature of Arena Swipe anti-fog is that the technology can be reactivated by swiping across the wet inside of the lens.
Arena describes Swipe as anti-fog protection that lasts up to ten times longer than the previous anti-fog technology in the Cobra range. That comparison comes from Arena's own tests and should therefore be read specifically in that context.
For you as a swimmer, the practical function matters most: if the lens starts to fog again, you do not immediately need to assume that the anti-fog coating has worn out. Reactivate Swipe first as Arena instructs.
Frequently asked questions
How does Arena Swipe technology work?
Arena Swipe is a reactivatable anti-fog technology on the inside of the lens. When the goggles start to fog, wet the lens and gently swipe a finger across the inside. Rinse the lens afterwards. This reactivates the anti-fog effect.
What is the difference between Arena Swipe and regular anti-fog?
The main difference is that Swipe can be reactivated. Arena states, based on its own tests, that Swipe lasts up to ten times longer than the previous anti-fog technology in the Cobra range. A Swipe lens can also be reactivated when vision starts to fog.
What should you do if Arena Swipe goggles start to fog?
Wet the inside of the lens, gently swipe your finger across the lens and rinse the goggles afterwards. This reactivates Swipe anti-fog. You do not need to immediately use a separate anti-fog spray.
Which Arena goggles have Swipe anti-fog?
Swipe is used on several Arena goggles. Examples include Cobra Edge Swipe, Cobra Ultra Swipe, Cobra Core Swipe and Air-Bold Swipe. Availability can vary by model and version. Choose the type of goggles that suits your use first, then look at the available Swipe versions.
