How do you maintain your swimming goggles?

Swimming with foggy and/or scratched lenses is very annoying. To prevent this, we've written down how to care for your goggles. Well-maintained goggles last longer and provide more fun.

  • Protect the anti-fog layer.
  • Clean your swimming goggles after use
  • Store your swimming goggles in a goggle case

Protect the anti-fog layer.

Swim goggles fog up when warm, moist air enters the lens. Almost all Sneppies swim goggles have a special anti-fog coating on the inside of the lens. This prevents the goggles from fogging up as quickly. However, this coating must be properly maintained.

The general rule for maintaining the anti-fog coating is as follows: Avoid touching the anti-fog coating and allow it to air dry. Touching the anti-fog coating is only permitted with Arena goggles equipped with SWIPE Anti-Fog .

TIP! Are your goggles starting to fog up? We have special anti-fog sprays that will add a fresh layer of anti-fog to your goggles!

Clean your glasses after use

Rinsing your goggles with lukewarm water after each swim removes dirt (such as chlorine) from them. This will extend their lifespan. Don't wash your goggles with soap or similar products, as this will damage the anti-fog coating.

Glasses should be dried outside the case to prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi.

Store your glasses in a goggle case

Once the goggles are dry after use, it's important to store them in their case. A goggle case is specifically designed for swimming goggles to protect them from scratches. It's also helpful to keep the goggles out of sunlight after use. Although many lenses have a UV protective coating, unnecessary exposure to UV rays isn't good for them.

By following these steps, you'll ensure your goggles don't get damaged unnecessarily. Happy swimming!
